Tizen: New name for MeeGo

With the Nokia’s decision to join hands with Microsoft and jump into the Windows phone market, MeeGo was having the uncertain future. It was because of the nature of MeeGo project that brought great open source innovatore and geeks together to create a new ecosystem. Now there is definately a good news for them as the Linux foundation has anounced the support for a new ecosystem Tizen. Intel and Samsung will be the main contributers for Tizen. Tizen combines the best open source technologies of LiMo and Meego. The main target technology in Tizen will be HTML5 for the cross-platform compatibilities. News are also coming that Samsung’s Bada platform can be merged with Tizen.

My area of Interest includes Mobile Technologies and Applications, Cloud Computing, Computer Networks and Web Technologies. My major contributions includes editing feature in FreOffice, implementation on SMS interoperability between IMS and GSM networks. I am currently working on collaborative editing feature for FreOffice as an open source contribution.
